Sun Driven MB ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Pulsar application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. Information Collection and Use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
Types of Data Collected
- Personal Data: While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). This includes your email address, name, and avatar URL, typically provided during sign-up through services like Google.
- Appliance Data: You provide us with information about your home appliances, such as name (e.g., "Washing Machine"), power consumption, and desired operational schedules (e.g., required run times).
- Linked Account Data: When you link a third-party service like Google Home or eWeLink, we securely store authentication tokens (OAuth tokens) that allow us to interact with their API on your behalf. We do not store your passwords for these services.
- Device Data from Linked Accounts: To control your devices, we retrieve a list of your smart devices (e.g., smart plugs) from your linked third-party accounts. This includes device IDs, names, and their current on/off status. This is essential for the Service to function.
- Energy Price Data: The Service uses publicly available energy market price data to perform its optimization calculations.
2. Use of Data
Pulsar uses the collected data for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: Your appliance data and energy price data are used to calculate the optimal, cost-effective schedule for running your devices.
- To Execute Schedules: We use the stored authentication tokens and your device IDs to send "on" and "off" commands to your smart devices according to the generated schedule.
- To Manage Your Account: To allow you to log in, manage your settings, and view your appliances.
- To Improve the Service: We may analyze usage patterns (without identifying individuals) to improve the functionality and user experience of our application.
We will not use your data for advertising or sell your data to third parties.
3. Data Transfer and Storage
Your information, including Personal Data and authentication tokens, is stored securely within Google Cloud services (Firestore) located in the European Union. By using the Service, you agree to this storage and processing.
4. Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the 'Settings' page within the application. When you unlink a third-party service (e.g., Google Home), we immediately delete the stored authentication tokens from our database. If you delete an appliance, all its associated scheduling data is also deleted. Upon account deletion, all your Personal Data and appliance information will be permanently removed from our systems.
5. Security of Data
The security of your data is important to us. We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption for data in transit and at rest, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Limited Use Policy
Pulsar's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
